Holding Space

Holding space is one of those phrases that's easy to say...

and much harder to live.

It isn't fixing.

It isn't rescuing.

It isn't controlling another person's outcome.

It isn't offering advice from a distance.

It is choosing to stay.

To listen before speaking.

To understand before explaining.

To remain present when certainty would be easier.

Sometimes the greatest gift we offer another person...

isn't our wisdom.

It's our willingness to be fully present while they discover their own.

Maybe that's what all of us have been looking for.

Not another answer.

Not another opinion.

Not another person telling us who we should become.

Just someone willing to stay.

Before you think you have to become something else...

Before you explain yourself.

Before you defend yourself.

Before you earn anything.

Before you prove you're enough.

You are still worthy of being seen.

That is what we mean by...
